Microsoft built-in Bluetooth drivers on Windows 8 and later cover most common device profiles including stereo audio and low energy. Installing Broadcom drivers manually is not necessary, although doing so will provide access to additional features and protocols. For further details, review the FAQ here. Play as a werewolf online.

New poster here. I've seen a LOT of issues with people trying to install the drivers for the BCM20702A0 device. In my case, this is a Bluetooth adapter from Insignia, but it looks like this is common across many devices. I downloaded the.EXE from Broadcom and it gets hung up while validating Bluetooth device (see image).
Linux:
Linux kernels after June 2012 or so have support for this adapter. Support has been backported to kernels back to later point releases of stable kernels 3.0+, specifically 3.0.34, 3.2.20, and all versions of 3.4. The adapter’s USB VID is 0x0a5c (Broadcom) and PID 0x21e8.

I recently bought an Insignia Bluetooth adapter from BestBuy and I cannot get the darned thing to work! I couldn't find the product on either bestbuy.com or insignia.com. I'm assuming that it is identical to its discontinued Rocketfish counterpart. The driver CD doesn't have any drivers on it, but instead links to Broadcom's website for a Universal driver. I have tried installing this several times but it always ends with the installer giving me the message;
'Could not start Microsoft Bluetooth stack. Please reboot your computer and try again.'
I have tried restarting my computer several times and have made sure that my computer is fully up-to-date. I have also turned the 'Bluetooth Support Service' to automatic hoping that it would help things along.
In devices and printers it shows up as 'BCM20702A0'. Hp compaq recovery download. So I know that my computer recognizes that something is actually attached.
Frankly I am running out of ideas on how to get this darned thing to work. I would really like to avoid buying a different adapter because I was able to buy this one with a gift card and don't want to spend more money. If anyone has any idea of how I might be able to get this thing to work, I would be ecstatic!
